The Bozeman Icedogs have returned to the North American 3 Hockey League’s Frontier Division Playoffs. After taking home a third-place finish, the Icedogs now take on the Great Falls Americans in a three-game series this weekend. Friday and Sunday will be played in Great Falls, and the Icedogs will host the Americans on Saturday in Bozeman.
This past weekend, the Icedogs wrapped up their regular season with a series split against Gillette, winning 5-3 on Friday to open it. Duncan Mcgarrah led scoring with two goals of his own, while Luke Hartge, Dominic Canic and Adam Franklin would have a goal apiece.
Goalie AJ Ruskowski would finish with 40 saves on the night. On Saturday, the Icedogs lost 3-2. Luke McKay and Gage Blatter would have the goals for Bozeman, and Bozeman backup goaltender Sean O’Connor would make 37 saves in only his third game appearance. “I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished this season.
The adversity that the players have faced, including the returning core from last year, makes this season even more memorable,” said Head Coach Elliot Bates. “Last season we went 5-41 and finished last in the division, and this season we’re 28-15-4 and are the 3rd seed going into the playoffs.”
