Butte Takes on Missoula and Great Falls
On Friday, the Butte Cobras battled the Great Falls Americans, who sit in second place in the North American 3 Hockey League’s (NA3HL) Frontier Division.
Butte would hold the high powered Americans to just one goal at the end of the first period and would answer with a tying goal of their own early in the second from Tyson Stovin. Butte’s goalie, Karl Zodda would make 42 saves, but the Cobras ultimately fell 9-1.
Zodda would make 42 plus saves in both of the Cobras games over the weekend. On Saturday, Zodda made 49 saves against the Missoula Bruins in a 5-0 loss.
“I thought we had some positives come out of the weekend, our special teams were working a little better than the past few games and we played a lot more physical than we have been. We will be working on blocking shots and getting pucks to the net this week in practice,” said Butte Assistant Coach, Josh Smith.
The Cobras next home game is against the division-leading Helena Big Horns at the Butte Community Ice Center on December 13th. The Cobras then hit the road for the NA3HL’s Showcase in Minnesota.
