At the press conference, OVG announced that the arena would span 750,000 square feet and that Skanska and AECOM Hunt have been hired to do the construction as the general contractors. AECOM was the contractor that built the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the home of the Golden Knights. The new Seattle Center Arena project is projected to cost $700 Million per the OVG.  OVG plans to fund the arena privately.

Watch the animation of the arena’s construction:

Seattle Center Arena is forecasted to seat a capacity of 18,400 fans for Hockey and 19,600 for basketball. Some of the arena’s other features will include 40 luxury suites located in the middle side sections of the arena along with 19 event suites closer to the playing surface. Both end sections of the arena will feature premium clubs. Construction of the arena now requires a city council vote which is scheduled to take place in September. If the arena project is approved, construction will begin this October.
